Hey i just got a ram 50 and the one thing i hate about it is it has no tach and i want one in so i went out and bought one now i just need to know how to install it. or where the sensor is so i can connect it. My truck is a 1992 with the 2.4L in it. The 4G64 i believe its called. any help would be greatly appreciated.

i installed an aftermarket tach. Very simple. I did it on a 91 2.4. under the hood, behind the engine on the firewall, there should be a one wire plug, closer to the passenger side. i think its red or black or both. The tach you got should have instructions. one wire needs to connect directly to that plug on the firewall(signal wire). then there should be another wire with the tach that goes to an ignition switched power source, which i hooked to the power wire of the non-existant clock. And probably another one for lights at night which i hooked up to the headlight switch. Then i just drilled a hole in the flat part of the dash to the left of the steering wheel and fed all wires through there, and mounted it in with screws. works great. goodluck
