1984 "Power Wagon" 50 Turbo Diesel build

Here's one of my projects (it's right up there with my '76 Ramcharger, '72 340 Demon, '75 W300, '74 340 Duster and '65 Formula S 273 'Cuda)

It started life as an '85 Power-Ram 50 2.3L TD, but needed ALOT of work. To the point that i think pretty much the only part that is original on the truck anymore is the Engine Block itself

At one point i actually considered dropping the engine in my '87 Power-Ram 50 (W50 as i call it) "Parts Truck" / Dumptruck,

Here was one of the first parts i hauled in, a Replacement Cab (took me ages to find one in this area)

Image

Here's the "New" Cab sitting on the "New" Frame, and a set of 40" Mudders that i borrowed from my '76 Ramcharger

Driver's side with the body work almost finished on the door, running 7.50-16's , with 2.25" cut out of the Front & Rear of the Fenders (to clear the 40" tires i had on before)

The Engine, Hydroboost Conversion, and most of the Engine Compartment

Still need to install the Intercooler, and a few other parts. Also ditched the Alternator/Vacuum Pump combo for a 120amp Nippondenso Alternator & converted over to Hydroboost brakes.

I'm pretty much set as far as parts go for the '85. There might be a few missing pieces though. Think i'm missing the Knobs (little sqaure ones) for the Climate Control/Heater Control, and i know i'm missing one of the Chrome Window Crank Handles for the Door Windows.

Flat broke at the moment though, every penny i've got is already spent (i bought a replacement/used body for my '76 Ramcharger)

But when i've got cash to spare i'll let you know if there's anything i might need

Been a while since i posted anything about the truck. It's been on hold for the most part due to an Injector Pump that's on the fritz (long story)

But here's some shots of the truck as it sits now, i'm hoping to get back into this project and get everything mechanically sound before i strip it down and roll it into the Paint Booth.

I was building it to be a multi-purpose truck. Part Off-Road Truck, Part Work Truck, Part Dumptruck, Part Plow Truck. The bed flexing seperately (subframe for the dumpbed) is a bit eerie at first, but you get used to it.

Still have to swap the Dana 60 Axles under it and install the 4" Lift Springs, plus a long list of other stuff that has to be done, and then it gets tore apart and rolled into the paint booth so i can do the body work and paint the truck.
