Are the diesels wideblocks? Is there anything special needed to swap into any wideblock transmisions?

mostly the same with the exception of all the accys like powersteering,alt/vac pump, a/c if it had it and clutch parts if i remember right,,,,,but as far as block,head,,,,,yes. huh what you got cooking there???

well if that is all you can get one of those out of a montero/raider and a diesel. man i was hoping on a hopped up diesel,,,,,,,,,,,,damn if only i had the cash and time.

But the raiders never came 2wd.

that im sure,,,,right or wrong,,,,,,,,,but what is the trans difference between a 2wd and a 4wd,,,,,,,,,,the transfer and output shaft isnt it???????? maybe modifying the clutch fork and making a bell housing mount instead of the cable.

I swapped out a 2.6 for a diesel last year and everything bolted right up. I'm using the cable clutch that was already on the truck with no problems.

I'm thinking of doing a diesel project and might use a Mitsubishi diesel. Since mightyd50 went down I just want verify somethings. I'm supposed to check one out this weekend.
