Don't do it, it's really hard on the injection pump, injectors, fuel lines, etc.. You'll be spending more money rebuilding your injection pump than if you would have bought pump fuel. If you plan to run WVO plan on rebuilding your pump every 5K miles. If your trying to save some money, get a bicycle.

Oh yeah, this also goes for pump bio diesel, avoid it at all costs.

wvo is bad if you use it straight - water is one issue as well as the pH of the wvo. The two together will literally eat up the fuel system. In cold climates (below 40 degrees), you need to heat the oil to prevent the wvo from gelling. It can be used if you treat it for the water and pH issues; best to mix it with regular diesel. Used motor oil is also abrasive to the fuel system, though running it through some good filters helps a lot. Some wvo users add some motor oil to the wvo to give the fuel a higher sulpher content to the wvo - sulpher is like lead was in gasoline to lubricate the valve seats

Black diesel is a very bad idea, not to mention it is illegal.

makes sence its illegal - additives in it to lubricate are toxic to burn; although I have a waste oil heater for my garage that burns used motor oil and that is legal. It all about the road tax.

yup, even WVO is illegal because the road tax. Running black diesel and WVO is the same as using offroad diesel. I have known a few guys who have received hefty fines over the past few years because they have WVO setup and they are not paying road taxes. There is a tax form out there you can fill out to make it legal but I have never known anyone who has bothered to fill one out. Interesting enough, I know that electic cars like the Nissan leaf may change the way we are taxed because they do not use gas. In the future I think we may be taxed according to the odometer when we register the vehicle instead of at the pump.

Don't worry - they will charge us all for mileage and tax whatever fuel we use. BTW, if you can prove you bought diesel fuel on a regular basis, (30-60 days) they can't fine you; this is from a wvo convertor here in Pittsburgh who spars with the new age " fuel revenuers". Reminds me of what the EPA pulled years ago when R12 was outlawed for sale to unlicensed people - they sent agents out to part stores to buy oil charge or max-cool or dye additives, and if the store sold them without seeing a license, they were fined $10,000 -25,000 !?! One moron agent bragged how he wrote 250,000 in fines in one week because the cans contained R12.
