Newbie! Hey from Fresno, CA!!

Hey whats up guys. Been lurking a little on your forum, just found it through another person who said it was a great site with great people, so thought I would check it out.

A little about me:

I'm 23, very hands on, and I like to do everything myself, like I'm sure most of you do. I don't have a MM or D50 yet, but in the market for one. I really like the 2nd gen MM/50, and I have always wanted one that was bagged fbss that was reliable, but still nice.

Anyways, thought I would ask here. Do you guys have/know of any good write up's on bagging a 2nd gen MM or D50? I want to buy a stock untouched one and use that as my foundation. There are a few locally that are already bagged and what not, but most people either want too much, or they are basically a show truck and not meant for daily driving. So I figured I would try to get a stock one and play with it and see if I can't bag it myself. Also do you guys know of any places that sell a complete base kit to bag a MM fbss? I know airbagit.com has a kit, but it says it's only for the 1st gen, and I haven't really been able to find any other kits online, but I'm still looking. I even put up an ad in yahoo answers, but not one response came in. Kinda sucks 'cuz they are usually pretty good about getting answers fast. Well if anyone knows of any links/write ups that could lead me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it. Thanks and you will be seeing more of me once I get a truck!

Lol I take it you dont like bags? Lol. I never really liked em either until I saw a bagged mm. I am very diverse when it comes to cars. For example I have a 95 civic that I been working on. I had a 95 XJ jeep cherokee lifted, 33" tires, etc. And yes I took that bitch everywhere lol. I also had an 82 toyota starlet that I use to autocross, and I had an '06 suzuki hayabusa that I am in the process of getting back. But anyways, yea bags just became interesting to me, and I have been wanting to get a mighty max cuz they are very reliable, simple, and will last. So will be a daily driven toy :)

As for finding them in cali, I know theres some, but not really around my area, and I really dont want to travel very far for one lol. And the ones that are close by are too overpriced, so meh. But i'm keeping my eyes open.

Yea I was starting to think I was gonna have to piece a kit together. Might be better/cheaper I guess. But that poses another problem. I have no idea exactly what I need lol. But any input's appreciated! Thanks.

You can get a D-50 for around $700 or less. Just keep in mind it's going to need work. I have had mine since 1980 when it was new. Holey crap I'm getting old. It was given to me by my Dad and I drove it all through High school. It's been totaled twice and rebuilt each time. Now it's time for it's final transformation.
