Posted: Sun Mar 06, 2011 8:47 amIt is possible. If the tach board has a potentiometer on it. The one on my isuzu did but I went the other way. I used a v6 cluster on a 4cyl. In any case it should work. youll just have to have two tachs hooked up, one that works like its supposed to and then the v6 cluster, adjust the potentiometer on the v6 clusters tachometer circuit board until it reads the same as the other tach. The potentiometer will look like a small box, with a small phillips screw on it and probably a few tick marks around the screw. If you already have the cluster take a pic of the board and i should be able to pick it out for ya

here you can see i've drilled a small hole in the top of the cluster case so I can adjust it with it almost completely installed in the truck, If you plan on doing it this way, I suggest you remove the board before drilling the hole or you could chip the board and have to solder it back together like I did.
Remove the lens and the gauge faces
It'll look something like this
Locate the potentiometer on the tach board and mark your spot on the case to drill the hole (the little blue box with screw.)
The screws that hold the tach in go through the back of the cluster where my three fingers are
Remove them and lift the board out

Posted: Sun Mar 06, 2011 2:11 pmI've seen people pull the needles on hondas before installing that reverse glow stuff for their clusters and their gauges were ways off by doing so. Even inoperative gauges happened. Any of that happen to you by pulling the needles?

Posted: Sun Mar 06, 2011 2:58 pmI've done more than a couple clusters and no problems here. Just make sure you put them back on in the same spot or they will be off. You may need to give the cluster ignition power in order for you to get the needles back on in the correct place because they will jump up a bit once the motors have power.
