I normally do the atv drag races at a local county fair, but this year they aren't having them. I like doing something different once in a while, so I'm thinking of entering the truck pull this year.

Anyone ever tried this with these little trucks? They do have a 4 cylinder class, so I know the weight will be adjusted accordingly, but these trucks are so light, I don't want to just sit and spin at the line. Just wondering if anyone had any tips to get the most out of my truck, so I don't get laughed out of the event.

I don't think they have a 1/2 ton class. But it would be funny to see how far it would go befor the frame hit the ground.

With the weight adjusted for the small engine class, I've seen stuff like a Wrangler and Cherokee pull it, but don't know what they weigh. I'm pretty sure if i can get a hitch built in time, I'm going to try it. Hopefully you don't see any posts from me looking for parts after the event. It's Thursday August 5th, so I have some time to come to my senses, but that's not likely.

i would guess the frame is welded to the axel. No springs

In Truckin mag a few years back a guy had a d-50 pulling truck - streached frame and a blown alky hemi. also on ebay a while back someone was selling a pulling truck - also with a custom frame but no motor. If you wanna pull, you need a good frame - a daily driver thats 20+ years old - not a good idea.

I'm not looking to do this competitively, just more for some good redneck fun. Racing atvs cost me enough, so I'm certainly not looking for another one of those kinds of hobbies.

Other than some surface rust, my frame is pretty solid, so I'm not worried about hurting it. I'm not going to try and kill it, because I like it everything working condition. If I can't move it, I'll stop and admit defeat, I have no desire to tear things apart. I'm also going to throw our company magnets on the sides for the advertising too, so if nothing else, that will be good.
