alright so ended up getting the truck on the highway and after pressing on the gas i found out i can only hit 80 and thats lucky. is there any way i can change this? id rather not be driving down the road at 75 and be reving this thing high enough to blow another headgasket

Have you done proper maintenance? New fuel filter, plugs, wires, oil and filter change, maybe dist cap, etc?? Those few things can really help.
