I had to go the auto store today to get some parts for a friend, so I went ahead took another look at my compressor before I left.

I first checked the low pressure side to check if there was any freon left. Nope all gone. So I went ahead and took it out. Yep, it looks to be a high pressure relief valve finally let go after 20 years. It's basically a one way valve, so I'll need to replace it or maybe use a plug instead. I tried find a M10 x 1.0 plug or bolt to use for now, but no luck at 3 different auto stores. I was hoping to seal the compressor for now. I ended up using a temporary plastic plug.

All the rebuilt AC compressors I found online for my truck don't have the valve, so I may just find a plug for it, but I'll probably end up hitting the junkyard in a couple weeks to find another valve. I found during my search that the high pressure relief valve was a common failure for eclilpses and 3000gt's ac compressors, but I couldn't find a part number for the truck. My search also found that a replacement valve for the 3000gt was about $100. If I can't find a valve at the yard, I'm just going to plug it.
