Balance shaft elim kit ??s

Well, it's been over a year since rebuilding my 2.6 and just got around to trying to fire it up.
I did install a balance shaft elimination kit when I built it and it only came with 1 cam bearing as a plug.
Was it supposed to have two cam bearings to plug another back in the block?
I got it to fire up but now it's not showing any oil pressure.

I can't remember what all that I did back then and am sure that I installed the one plug.
I even unscrewed that little 1/4" plug right by the filter boss and NOTHING..?

I REALLY DON"T WANT TO pull that front cover again, but it looks that way right now.
When I get home, I'll pull that oil filter and see if ANY oil has come up there too.

Yup, used a heavy lube that's real tacky when I put it all back together.
It has a HORRIBLE shake also..
It looks as though I gotta pull the front cover and mess up how nice and pretty it is..

But you said that was like a year ago when you put it all back together. Ive had engines loose oil pressure over the winter from sitting and had to reprime the oil pump. Just use the little plug by the oil filter. Dump some oil in there and unplug the coil. Then you can crank till you get pressure. Shouldnt take too long so dont go apeshit. The shake is from the removal of the balance shafts. There in there from the 2.6's long stroke.

Your RIGHT! I guess it was another engine.. At the time, I was trying to get as many things done as I could and just got cornfused.

I did notice that there is a difference in oil pumps though. (between the quest and max 2.6) the pics are in my gallrey.

I wish I would've thought about taking the plug out and transfering oil through there instead of pulling the front cover off again..
Got her running, oil pressure @70, so it looks good so far.

Thank you all for responding.

Not to come off as 'that guy' but did you get the rotating assembly balanced when you eliminated the shafts, because when i got mine done the guy told me it was one of the more out of balance assembly he's worked with he didn't know if the could get it straightened around he thought i'd have to buy new parts (which could be unique to my engine) so that could account for the shaking. i second the oil pump priming thing

good luck,
Greg

one of my trucks that i bought had a brand new rebuilt jasper engine installed, it had a balance shaft elimination kit installed for the rebuild... well 3-4 years later (only 12,000 miles) thing blasted a rod through the side of the block.. what fun! idk if it had anything to do with the kit but who knows with all that shaking and vibration..
