not a big engine dio guru so maybe you all can help some, our 91 MM 2.4 ticks at start til it warms up, no performance loss just noisey, my buddies MM did the same thing, i know it has something to do with the oil but what? the oil is new and filled correctly, what can i do to fix this? Is this lifter slap or what ever they call it?

Maybe its just a small exhaust leak, but as the exhaust manifold heats up and expands, it seals itself off.

Could also be weak lifters that pump up when warm. Try running a quart of Rislone in place of 1 quart of oil. Its a super detergent for oil and should quiet those lifters if thats where the noise is coming from.
