Cold Starting

Is it always hard to start the trucks when it gets cold? I have been having this problem since I bought the truck. I have the 2.0 with manual fuel pump. I was supposed to replace the factory carb with a weber 34 but had to work on my van. Need a quick fix solution. Thanks And it has the Electric choke. Am thinking about hitting the junkyard to see if I can find a electric choke. I do know that the local yard has or had atleast 3 ram 50's
