2g Maf plug to 1g Plug

Hello people. I've seen people that has installed a second generation MAF into their first generation truck. They just modify the plug to make it compatible so since I have a 2G MAF laying around I wanted to try this. Any of you guys done it?? If so, how??

I think your getting confused here - the 1990 is a 2nd gen body style, but a first gen FI engine type. The 2nd gen MAF is referring to engine type, not body type. Hope this clears up some confusion. As for the swap, it requires the MAF plug changed on the truck harness to match the new MAF sensor. That I can not help you with, as I have never tried it , but with manuals for both vehicles wiring, it should be fairly straight forward. You may need the ECM reprogrammed to make this work properly.
